Module description

This module develops the students' specialist knowledge, skills and value base for working with adults. In particular it will address the complex issues, which are relevant to older adults, people with disabilities, people who have mental health difficulties, substance users and offenders. It will give an overview on the policy developments in these areas and on the structure of service delivery. The module will ensure that students develop further the communication, assessment, intervention and planning and review skills and will focus throughout on user and career perspectives. Research based learning from governmental and other sources will be an important part of the student's learning from this module and the module will demonstrate how the boundaries of knowledge and practice are advanced by this research.
