This module explores the implications of the modernisation and change agendas in social care. Key aspects of this agenda will be critically explored including the development and implementation of central and local social care policy; strategic management in social care; planning and commissioning; partnerships with health, education; service design and delivery; performance management and best value; political, citizen and user accountability; the role of voluntary social care organisations; and policy and practice to ensure social inclusion. The content will be regularly updated to reflect changes in central and local government policy.
