Module description
This module provides an introduction to the institutions of the US Government with special emphasis upon the foreign and defence policy decision making process.
The second semester deals with the development of American foreign policy in the post 11 September 2001 period and examines the central issues in contemporary American foreign and security problems.
Teaching and learning methods
These courses are taught by a combination of lectures, classes and directed reading.
This module is available as:
Autumn term only 10 credit unit – 3,000 word assessed essay
Spring term only 10 credit unit – 3,000 word assessed essay
Whole Year 20 credit unit – 1 x presentation (10%), 3,000 word summative essay (40%), plus 3 hour examination (50%)
