Module description
Contemporary International Political Economy A will examine the emergence of an offshore economy. The module is concerned with the contemporary relationship between the state and sovereignty, and an internationalizing economy. The module examines the workings of the Euromarket, tax havens, export processing zones, flag of convenience and e-commerce.
Contemporary International Political Economy B examines the contemporary challenges of international economic governance in an era of globalisation. The module is concerned with investigating not only how international economic organizations influence states and markets - and vice versa - but the politics behind and generated by this influence.

Autumn term only 10 credit unit – 3,000 word assessed essay
Spring term only 10 credit unit – 3,000 word assessed essay
Whole Year 20 credit unit – 1 x Presentation (10%), 2 x 3,500 summative essay (45% each)
