Module description

The module describes the deformation and failure of polymers, including visco-elastic models, isochronous stress-strain curves, buckling and compressive failure, fracture and fatigue in polymers. Polymer processing will be described and a detailed analysis of the common polymer processing methods presented. The reinforcement of polymers with fibres will be detailed including fibre types, matrices, laminates, their manufacture and applications.
