Module description

The aim of the module is to provide the fundamentals of complex flows in engineering devices with application to a turbocharging system.

SYLLABUS
Elements of engine turbocharging;
Thermodynamics of turbo- and supercharging;
Basic compressible flow in engines (valves, manifolds);
Elements of non-ideal compressible flows: shock, heat transfer, friction; Blading in Pumps and Turbines, Momentum Transfer;
Turbocharging systems - principles of matching
