How to apply for undergraduate courses

Students celebrating graduation

We recognise the important role that Parents, Teachers and Careers Advisors play in supporting prospective students through the UCAS application process.

For all undergraduate courses (apart from the International Foundation Programme) students should apply through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS). Information about the application process and the online application form can be found at the UCAS website.

It is important that students remember that the University of Birmingham's UCAS code number is B32. This must be entered clearly on the application form to ensure that it reaches us for consideration. Students must also ensure that their application reaches us on time to be considered for entry on to their chosen course. Deadlines for applications can be found on the UCAS when to apply web pages.

Students should aim to maximise the impact of their application for all universities. Details about meeting entrance requirements for courses and our perspective on writing a good personal statement can be found in the Undergraduate section of the website. Information concerning reference writing can however be found here.
