What is my personal ID number?
Your personal ID number (PID) is provided when you register with UCAS. You'll receive your university/student ID number in your offer.
How long will it take to receive a decision on my application?
Once we receive your application via UCAS, it is considered by the relevant Admissions Tutor at the University. The process takes four to six weeks in most cases and we will write to you when a decision has been made.
During this period we may also contact you via email to keep you up to date with relevant information concerning the course you have applied for and any interests you may have through our Birmingham VIP service. You will also receive notification from UCAS, and our decision will be visible on UCAS Track.
Can I track the status of my application?
Once we receive your application via UCAS, it is considered by the relevant Admissions Tutor. The process takes four to six weeks in most cases and we will write to you when a decision has been made. You will also receive notification from UCAS, and our decision will be visible on UCAS Track.
Why was my application unsuccessful?
Some courses are very competitive and only the very best applicants receive the offer of a place: this does not mean that we do not value your application, but is simply a reflection of the large number of applications that have to be considered.
Can I nominate a parent or friend to manage my application on my behalf?
Your application is confidential and for privacy reasons we will not discuss information relating to your application with anyone else. If you are unavailable during the admission process, or you need assistance, you may authorise a relative or friend to act on your behalf. If you wish to do this, you need to follow the instructions when you apply via UCAS.
I have already applied but need to add some information to my UCAS form. What do I do?
You need to do this through UCAS by using the Track service at the UCAS website. To access Track you will need the username and password that you used to apply, and Personal ID. Your username and Personal ID are shown on the UCAS Welcome letter and Applicant Welcome Guide.
I'm not sure I want to study the course I applied for. Will you consider me for a different course?
It depends on which course you've applied for. If you have an offer, or we are still reviewing your application please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Do you provide feedback on unsuccessful applications?
We will respond to individual requests for feedback. Please email email@example.com including your personal ID and the course applied for.
When do I need to apply for accommodation?
You can apply for accommodation when you have received an offer from us. Details will be sent with your offer. You can find out what accommodation is available online.
