Second year module

This module is the primary second year microeconomics module. In it we return to many of the topics covered in the Level 1 Principles of Economics course and investigate their theoretical foundations in some detail. The course is particularly concerned with theory of consumers, production theory, and the theory of perfectly competitive markets.

Learning outcomes

By the end of this module the student will be able to:

  • Analyse the elements of competitive consumer theory (including its application to choice under uncertainty)
  • Understand how producers and consumers interact in a competitive market
