The course focuses on the conceptual foundations of banking and credit markets, including the theory of financial intermediation, spot and forward lending, credit rationing, securitization and other lending techniques, deposit contracts and insurance, and bank regulations.

Learning outcomes

On completion of this module the student will have been provided with analytical tools for the analysis of contemporary issues in banking, with a particular emphasis on the informational problems that are at the core of modern financial intermediation.
