The first semester of this module will deal with the key concepts, theories and actors in contemporary European Security. The second semester will examine the key contemporary issues in European Security including crises in Europe and neighbouring states and regions.
At the end of the module the student should be able to:
- Demonstrate an ability to draw conceptual conclusions from historical and emerging security challenges in Europe
- Draw upon theoretical insights from the International Relations literature in order to analyse security challenges
- Think about issues in a multi-disciplinary and policy-relevant fashion.
- Term One: 2 x 3,000 word assessed work (50% each)
