The Open University progression information

Please note that a minimum of 55% from The Open University End of Module Assessment will be required on any of the language modules listed, if the intention is to continue studying that language on the University of Birmingham’s Modern Languages programme.

Please note that you will need to have completed at least one language to Intermediate level with The Open University in order to join the second year at Birmingham.

Please note that acceptance into any of the University of Birmingham pathways is not guaranteed. The decision to make offers remains with the University of Birmingham at all times. In addition to the programme-specific requirements laid out above, applicants must also:

• fulfil any other University of Birmingham’s standard requirements for admission;
• satisfy the University of Birmingham’s English Language requirements at the time of admission (please note that there is a 2-year time limit on the validity of English language proficiency results);
• satisfy the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requirements applicable at the time of application or admission to the University of Birmingham.
