You can choose to study either one, two or three languages, alongside cultural modules.
One language: choose from French, German, Italian, Russian or Spanish.
Two or three languages (one of which must be from the previous list): choose from Catalan, English Language, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. One language may be from Beginners level, with the exception of French and English Language which are only available at Higher Level (post-A Level).
Alongside your language modules, you will be able to choose from a broad range of modules focusing on the history, film, literature, art, politics, and media of the countries whose language you are studying. You will also be able to take modules in advanced language acquisition within this pathway. If you choose to focus on one language, in your first and second years you will take a ‘Module Outside the Main Discipline’ (there are over 100 options available) alongside modules in your chosen language, allowing you to explore a different or complementary discipline during your studies.
