Research Project - Public Health and Population Sciences

Credits: 40

Assessment

1. Poster presentation of findings (20%)
2. Dissertation / journal paper style submission (80%)

This module will provide you with first-hand experience of undertaking research from completion of a research protocol to presentation of findings.

All students have a nominated supervisor and individually tailored support through all aspects of their research.

Projects undertaken can be quantitative or qualitative in nature and conducted within the UK or abroad. You are provided with a list of supervisors and projects in the summer before the programme starts and encouraged to work up ideas during the vacation. We are always happy to support students who have identified their own research questions or who have existing clinical or international links with whom they wish to collaborate. You give a poster presentation of your project in April, and the final report (journal paper or dissertation) is submitted in May.
