Practice Evaluation and Service Development

Programmes

  • BSc Physiotherapy

Level

Year Three

This module offers students opportunity to analyse the policy and organisational context of healthcare, enabling them to practise effectively as qualified practitioners. They will develop understanding of the current context in which physiotherapy services operate and through examination of a range of influences drawn from health policy, societal change and knowledge development, evaluate how physiotherapy may respond flexibly to meet emerging needs. Students will be encouraged to evaluate the role of management, leadership and continuing professional development in the promotion of effective service and career development. This approach is designed to promote a view that best practice is dependent on individual professional development alongside the wider development of the profession within the wider context of inter-professional working.
