Applying to our foundation pathways from September 2021

At Birmingham, we are proud to deliver our own, on-campus foundation pathways, taught by Birmingham academics. To enable us to better support our applicants, we have launched an exciting new partnership with Kaplan International Pathways to deliver our Admissions process for courses starting from September 2021 onwards. This partnership means that wherever in the world you are applying from, Kaplan staff will be on hand to help guide you through the application process, and help you to secure a place on one of our own foundation pathways. Kaplan has 15 years of experience in helping students to study abroad on pathway courses, so you're in safe hands.

There are no changes to the delivery of the pathways, which will continue to be taught by Birmingham staff, and we will continue to apply our standard entry requirements, and deliver high quality teaching to our students.

To find out more about our pathways and to apply for September 2021, or January 2022, please visit Kaplan International Pathway's University of Birmingham foundation pathways webpage.

Alternative offers through our Pathways to Birmingham programmes and our Contextual Offer scheme

Students who are eligible and successfully complete a Pathways to Birmingham programme will receive special consideration from admissions tutors and an alternative offer (typically two grades below the standard offer). In addition, our Contextual Offer Scheme recognises the potential of students whose personal circumstances may have restricted achievement in school or college. If you are eligible to benefit from the contextual offer scheme, you will receive an offer which is one grade lower than the standard offer.
