Award Description

The Enhanced School Excellence Scholarship is awarded to the most academically outstanding undergraduate student admitted into their first year in the School of Mechanical Engineering.

Students in receipt of scholarships from organisations other than the University of Birmingham may receive this scholarship in addition to their other awards.

Value of Award

This scholarship offers an additional £2,500 on top of the School Excellence Scholarship of £2,500. If one outstanding candidate is not identified by the selection panel, the scholarship may be split. 

Eligibility Criteria

All new UK and EU students admitted to the School of Mechanical Engineering by the end of September will be considered for this scholarship. Awards can be made to students following any programme offered by the School, including Foundation Year students. Grade A mathematics (or equivalent i.e. IB Mathematics HL grade 6) is a requirement for the scholarship.

How to Apply

There is no special application process for these scholarships – awards will be made by the decision of a scholarship panel held in the School of Mechanical Engineering after the start of the autumn semester.
