The International Excellence Scholarship is awarded to overseas undergraduate students who apply to study Computer Science in recognition of academic excellence. A wide range of international qualifications will be considered - please contact the admissions tutor to find out the criteria that would apply in each case.
Value of Award
This scholarship is valued at £1,900 individually, and will be added to the £1,500 International Entry Bursary to result in a total of £3,400 awarded as a tuition fee contribution. This scholarship will be paid directly to the School of Computer Science on behalf of the award holder.
To retain the 'Excellence Scholarship', students must continue to perform at First Class level – i.e. they must achieve an average mark of at least 70% at the end of each year.
In order to qualify for this award, an applicant must:
- Be classed as Overseas for fee purposes;
- Have made a programme in Computer Science their firm choice;
- Have achieved A*AA at A Level or equivalent qualifications.
Scholars cannot be in receipt of a fully-funded fees scholarship from an external body. (Part-funded students should contact to Admissions Tutor for further information with regards to eligibility).
How to Apply
There is no special application process - the awards will be made automatically to all eligible students admitted to the School of Computer Science at the University of Birmingham who apply to and select one of the School's courses as their firm choice before 1st August.
