Are you a teacher in a state school or college? Do you teach students in years 8-13? Would you like to bring a group of your widening participation cohort onto campus to particpate in a learning experience at a Russell Group University? If so, then the masterclass programme at the University of Birmingham may be of interest!

Alternatively, you may be a sixth form or college student looking to experience a taster lecture at a Russell Group University.

Each year, in the autumn term, the University of Birmingham Outreach Office organises around 40 masterclasses on a Wednesday afternoon. These classes are free of charge and teachers or individual students from state schools/colleges are eligible to make booking requests for spaces.

Please note that masterclasses are not designed to meet school curriculum specifications, but are instead an opportunity for students to engage with our academic staff, on campus, using a topic we hope they will find engaging.

Teacher, 'Why do we eat what we eat?' masterclass "The talk was very informative and the students who I accompanied all found it very inspiring"

Please note that whilst there is no charge for masterclass places, terms and conditions do apply - please refer to the online brochure for full terms and conditions.
