Module description

Students who have taken the Juvenile Justice (08 15111 & 08 15112) Examination Module select a topic for research from a list provided: these currently include the reformative ideal in history, the age of criminal responsibility, the sentence of Detention During Her Majesty's Pleasure, risk factors for delinquency, truancy and offending, trauma as a significant factor in violent and/or sexual offending, girls and prostitution, parental responsibility, anti-social behaviour orders, protection and child witnesses, problems with the juvenile secure estate, the practice of remand. Other areas such as stop and search and race, violent offending by girls and gangs and guns may be available. Subjects are liable to change.
