Module description

This module provides the opportunity for students to bring together learnt skills in both academic and practical areas of the syllabus. The Final Year Portfolio consists of two equal elements: A Research Project on any chosen areas of Theatre and Performance. Students attend a number of staff lead workshops on setting up and completing a Research Project and are invited to attend special sessions run by Information Services. A minimal amount of other staff supervision is provided (semester 1). A Final Practical Project (semester 2) which is examined at the end of the first few weeks after the Easter Vacation and thus constitutes the first final year examination. Students are provided with full technical back-up and work in groups of no less than two on a performance (length 7 -25 minutes depending on size of group). This is formally assessed, by Staff and (usually) the external examiner in accordance with Departmental criteria for the assessment of practical and performance work. The content of both elements are student defined.
