Module description

This course surveys the dramatic writing of Anton Chekhov and examines the continued significance of the work in Western and Russian theatrical production. Texts will include the following: Anton Chekhov's major plays Ivanov, Seagull, Uncle Vanya, Threee Sisters, Cherry Orchard and one act plays The Bear, The Proposal, Swan Song and The Harmfulness of Tobacco and short stories The Lady with the little Dog and The Duel.
