Module description

This module examines the development of West Germany from the collapse of the Nazi dictatorship to the stepping down of Chancellor Adenauer in 1963. It will investigate the transformation of (West) Germany from a beaten enemy to a close ally of the West and a key player in European integration. In the first semester, the legacy of war, the Allied occupation and the creation of the Federal Republic before the background of the Cold War are considered.
