This module focuses on a thorough reading of Boccaccio¿s Decameron. References to Boccaccio's parodistic use of Dantean and Petrarchian values, will shed light to the new cultural values of the modern ¿world of merchants¿. Along with the awareness of the historical and cultural context, the course aims to provide the critical tools necessary to understand the complexity of a literary text.
