Module description

This module aims to introduce students to Biblical Hebrew helping to acquire such proficiency in grammar that they will be able to understand discussions of biblical texts and read a simple unseen prose passage with the help of appropriate basic reference works. During this course students will use a Grammar chosen by the tutor as well as read a number of Hebrew texts.

Teaching and learning methods

The course will be delivered principally through interactive lectures, which will provide a broad range of information and ideas and also afford students the opportunity of exploring aspects of this material in more detail through group discussion and interaction. WebCT will be used to support these teaching and learning activities where appropriate. This course will, as far as possible, adhere to the chief principles of the University’s current Learning and Teaching strategy.
