Module description

Public Sector Accounting provides students who have an accounting background with an understanding of accounting in non-business contexts, particularly in relation to national, state and local governments. The course deals with budgeting, financial accounting and reporting, and auditing. The UK and US contexts predominate but reference is made to developments in Continental Europe.

Teaching and learning methods

Some two-hour seminars in the early weeks of Semester 2 plus personal supervision of essay proposals.
