It does this by a more intensive exploration of the topics within the module, challenging students to develop their knowledge and question some of their belief systems in order to reach a more extensive and robust conclusions about the role and place of primary care; the role of the private sector in a publicly funded health service; international comparisons in primary care; the politics of primary care; links between primary care and local government; changing work force patterns in primary care; and future developments in primary care within wider NHS reform.
