Module description

The module reflects the increasing importance of Information Management within public organisations and the fact that organisational change is now strongly driven by the e-governance agenda and by developments in the gathering, processing and dissemination of data through computer systems. The module explores the lessons and impacts of such developments (actual and potential) and considers the significance in this context of interactions and communications between technical professionals and management. Frameworks will be explored which enhance understanding and communication between these two elements. The module is aimed at the general manager and administrator, not the technical expert, consequently the focus is particularly on managerial and organisational issues associated with ICTs and the emerging e-governance agenda.
