Module description

This module explores the theory and practice of changing approaches to financial management practice in community health and social care including the separation of commissioning, purchasing and providing and the delegation or devolution of budgetary control. The political and policy context of these changes at central and local levels is critically examined. The module also focuses on micro budget management knowledge and skills involved in budget creation, negotiation, monitoring and evaluation, and a consideration of both revenue and capital resources. The use of budgets to ensure effective outcomes in community health and social care, including equality outcomes, is fundamental to the teaching and practice learning for this module.
