Module description

The module will introduce engineering design against failure under both monotonic and cyclic loading. Failure at temperatures both above 0.4Tm and below 0.4Tm will be considered. The initiation and propagation of fatigue cracks will be addressed. Three dimensional stressing up to yielding will also be considered. The mechanisms of corrosion of metals and methods of corrosion prevention will be studied.
