Module description

Students are introduced to the application of mathematical techniques to engineering problems. The application examples are reinforced by problem solving classes. Students’ knowledge and skills in the application of differentiation and integration are extended. Students are introduced to the principles and practice of the construction and solution of ordinary differential equations. Partial derivatives are introduced, and applied to functions of two variables. The application of differential equation techniques to a range of important engineering problems is introduced.
