Community activity and elite performance will take place side by side when the University of Birmingham’s new £55 million sports centre opens.

The sports centre will include Birmingham’s first 50 metre swimming pool, an arena sports hall seating up to 900 spectators, six squash courts, six activity rooms for a wide range of sport and fitness classes, a 225 station gym and various other facilities designed to meet the needs of students, staff, alumni and community.

As we approach the opening of this exciting development, you can help us to name the new gym by voting for your favourite sporting hero who has pledged their support to our new sports centre.

Our ‘Name of the Game’ campaign will run alongside the build of the sports centre. Show your support for this fantastic facility by choosing your sporting hero – will it be Paralympian swimmer Ellie Simmonds, Ironman Champion Chrissie Wellington, or Test Cricketer Gladstone Small? Who would you like to champion?

Voting has now closed. Thanks for taking part - the winner will be announced soon!
