We continued our weekly socials and held our first ever "Speaking Out" event with three fantastic speakers. We were also nominated for Head of College Idea of the Year at the EPS Societies’ Awards and made the shortlist, which was an amazing experience.

At our inaugural Speaking Out event Aidan Randle-Conde, a founding member of LGBT CERN, spoke about his experiences in setting up the group and subsequent media coverage. Ruth Mills spoke about her transition at university and in the workplace, and about her work at Connect Group and for TransCode. David Swann spoke about his experiences at Nationwide.  The evening was a great success and it was wonderful to hear from such inspiring speakers.

Next term we hope to hold another Speaking Out and we are also working with the WISE (Women in Science and Engineering) and CSS (Computer Science) societies to host the second annual Women in Technology Conference which promises to be another excellent event. We'll be working with the LGBT Mentoring scheme again too. We've also organised some exciting activities for Welcome Week to encourage a brand new set of members. Plans are coming together for the rest of the year in the form of quizzes and film nights so please visit our Facebook page or email us to find out more!

We hope to see you soon,
