The University of Birmingham, and by definition, the College of Medical and Dental Sciences, is an exempt charity under Schedule 2 of the Charities Act 1993. This means that donations and philanthropic gifts received can be increased by 25% thanks to Gift Aid. Alumni and supporters are an essential part of our community, and make a significant contribution to ourwork each year. All fundraising staff are funded through the central accounts of the University, meaning that every penny of a donation goes to the cause the donor has selected.

Thank you to our donors

We're excited to announce the official close of the Circles of Influence fundraising campaign. More than £193 million has been given to the University since the campaign was launched in 2009, smashing the £160 million target.

Our 10,500 amazing donors have transformed our campus, funded research with global impact and given students life-changing opportunities. Watch the video to find out more.

What's next?

We are continuing the tradition of charitable giving which founded the University more than 100 years ago by fundraising for a range of new projects addressing society's biggest challenges.
