You are warmly invited to hear Professor Mark Jackson, BSc, MB, MS, PhD. Professor of the History of Medicine and Research Theme Leader for Medical Humanities at the University of Exeter, deliver his lecture on The Age of Stress: Myth or Reality
Professor Jackson is currently Chair of the Wellcome Trust Research Resources in Medical History Funding Committee and has been appointed to the History Sub-Panel for REF 2014. His books include Newborn Child Murder (1996), The Borderland of Imbecility (2000), Infanticide: Historical Perspectives on Child Murder and Concealment 1550-2000 (ed., 2002), Allergy: The History of a Modern Malady (2006), Health and the Modern Home (ed., 2007), Asthma: The Biography (2009), The Oxford Handbook of the History of Medicine (ed., 2011), and The Age of Stress: Science and the Search for Stability (2013). He is currently completing a popular book entitled The History of Medicine: A Beginner’s Guide (OneWorld, 2014).
