Patient data is a powerful resource for research. The advances in acquisition, storage and access to this data place allow unprecedented opportunities for researchers.
This RKTO seminar will focus on the experiences of three viewpoints in the use of patient data for research; that of Dr Tom Marshall, as an academic utilising data from GP practices via the commercially available THIN Database; Dr Daniel Ray (Director of Informatics, UHB) who has lead on the significant advances in UHB patient informatics and Jodie Haddon-Garrick, (Senior Manager- Information Governance, UHB) who will provide key guidance/principles for researchers wishing to appropriately use patient data.
