Development, Alumni and Business Engagement (DABE)

The Development, Alumni and Business Engagement (DABE) division is responsible for generating opportunities for former students (alumni) to stay involved with the University, encourage philanthropic support for charitable projects across campus, and work with industry and the public sector to build industrial partnerships and collaborations.

The University was founded on charitable giving and the Circles of Influence fundraising campaign is raising funds for projects that will transform the lives of people in Birmingham, the UK and worldwide.

DABE encompasses the following sections:

Alumni Relations

Alumni Relations organises events, volunteering opportunities, provides communications and stewards our supporters to keep our alumni engaged and connected with the University.

Business Engagement

The Business Engagement team works closely with key regional, national and international partners to develop academic-industry links and business partnerships that will help to enhance our performance and status as an engaged University.

More than 2,500 alumni make a donation each year to the Circles of influence fundraising campaign. The Regular Giving and Major Gift programmes encourages individuals, alumni and trusts and foundations to support the University. Every gift makes a real difference.
