The need to recruit and maintain qualified personnel is a known concern in the nuclear sector with the issue particularly acute for nuclear decommissioning. A clear global positioning of the European Union in this area will be beneficial, will stimulate export and will promote high safety standards. The University of Birmingham, in association with the European Commission's Joint Research Centre are holding a joint seminar to address the following questions in relation to education and training in nuclear decommissioning.
