Professor Roger Backhouse elected as a Fellow of the British Academy

At its recent Annual General Meeting, the British Academy elected 42 highly distinguished UK academics from 19 universities as Fellows, in recognition of their outstanding research. Among the distinguished academics was the Department of Economics Professor Roger Backhouse.

HSMC PhD student appointed to Advisory Council on Misuse of Drugs

One of our PhD students (Dr. Kostas Agath, a consultant psychiatrist) has been appointed by the Home Secretary to the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs, the body which makes recommendations to government on the control of dangerous or otherwise harmful drugs.
