Terms of Reference 

The Knowledge Transfer and Engagement Committee has oversight of policy matters related to the translation of knowledge and technology generated from our research into benefits for the economy, policy and society. It works closely with Alta Innovations Ltd, the University’s subsidiary, which has responsibility for the commercialisation of the University’s intellectual property.

Key responsibilities are:

To provide UEB with advice on knowledge transfer and engagement and help to create a supportive culture for these within the University.

To ensure these activities support the ‘charitable objects’ (teaching, examining and research) of the University and deliver appropriate public benefit.

To oversee the development and implementation of the University’s Business Engagement Strategy.

To have an overview of College knowledge transfer strategies and to promote integration, coordination and interaction between them.

To identify, promote, disseminate and celebrate good practice in knowledge transfer and business engagement activities.
