The Alumni Relations team provides opportunities for current and former students to stay connected with the university and each other through events, communications and volunteering opportunities.
The alumni relations programme incorporates print and online publications, a dynamic annual schedule of events and meetings for alumni, a thriving volunteer programme and a stewardship programme to give thanks to the generosity of alumni and donors. Any student who completes more than 60 credits at the university is classified as an alumnus. Each of the University’s five colleges also has its own Alumni Relations Manager.
The alumni communications programme includes the flagship Birmingham Magazine, which is posted annually to more than 170,000 alumni around the world, and the monthly email newsletter Bite-size, which has a readership of 70,000. More than 1,100 former students worldwide attended alumni events in 2011/2012.
