The Alumni Relations team provides opportunities for current and former students to stay connected with the university and each other through events, communications and volunteering opportunities.
The programme of communications incorporates print and online publications, social media activity and a dynamic annual schedule of events and meetings for alumni. Any student who completes more than 60 credits at the university is classified as an alumnus. Each of the university’s five colleges also has its own Alumni Relations Manager.
The alumni communications programme includes the flagship Birmingham Magazine, which is posted annually to more than 150,000 alumni around the world, and the monthly email newsletter Bitesize, which has a readership of 57,000. A total of 1,346 former students worldwide attended alumni events in 2010.
