The Strategy and Policy Office develop and deliver the HR strategies and policies which contribute to the University's objectives, and ensure that University employment policies comply with the relevant legislation.
Working with senior management, academic staff, recognised trade unions, staff representatives and various staff groups, the team develops, implements and reviews employment policies and procedures, pay and reward schemes, equality and diversity policies and practices and voluntary staff benefits.
The Office also collects and analyses data such as recruitment, staff numbers and pay to inform policy development. This data is used internally for planning and externally for national benchmarking and league tables.
