Architecture, Security and Innovation

The architecture, security and innovation team works to define IT strategies and architecture, manage information security, investigate new technology. Its role is to optimise the University’s return on investment in technology and to maximise the availability and utility of information while protecting confidentiality.

The team performs the following functions:

  • Architecture - refines and develops the IT strategy, combining it with industry best practice to create an enterprise architecture vision that includes business, application, data and technology architecture domains. Defines technical and architectural standards, providing architectural governance and design authority.
  • Security - develops information security policies and standards for the University, designing security controls and working with other teams to implement them.
  • Innovation - manages the IT Innovation Centre, developing a network of innovators across the University and investigating new technology and ways of working.
