Managing your money

Getting your finances under control before you arrive will allow you to relax and enjoy your time at University.

Plan your budget

Budgeting is one of the most important things that you will need to learn as a student. These resources will help you think about the money coming in and going out of your account and develop a balanced budget.

Funding and scholarships

Funding is available from both the government and the University to help you meet your living expenses.

Struggling with your money?

It can be difficult to manage your finances while trying to focus on your studies, especially if you are living away from home for the first time. The University has a number of support services available to help you.

Finding a job

Worklink is based at the Guild of Students, and works alongside Guild Jobs to provide students with the connection to on-campus casual work.

Guild Jobs gives you access to hundreds of part-time and temporary vacancies in the local area, both online and on display in the Guild of Students.

Students and Benefits

If you are concerned about how being a student might affect any benefits you are claiming, there is a national charity, Turn2us, that can help.  It can also give guidance and advice regarding any charitable grants that may be available to you.
