The Induction Day for the all new Chemical Engineering Undergraduate students (Foundation Year, Year 1, Direct Entry to Year 2 and Year 3) will take place on Wednesday 19th of September in the Main Lecture Theatre LT-124 in Chemical Engineering (Y11, Edgbaston campus map). It will start at 9:30 am, so please aim to arrive at 9:00am when you will be welcomed by the student members of the Chemical Engineering Society. It is very important to attend it. The timetable for the academic year will also be given.
9:30 am - Welcome by Professor Peter Fryer, Head of School; Dr Gary Leeke, Admissions Tutor and Dr Regina Santos, First Year Chairperson. They will give an introduction to the arrangements for the start of session, including general welfare & student support information, module study guides, timetables, option choices and Module Outside Main Discipline (MOMD).
10:30 am - Introduction to the Birmingham University Chemical Engineering Society (BUCES) by Robert Harrison on behalf of Lauren Du Bourg, the Chairperson and BUCES’ Committee Members.
10:50 am - Talk on the Coniston Weekend Teambuilding Course (Friday 28th September – Monday 1st October) by Dr Liam Grover.
11:00 am - Tea and coffee with members of the Chemical Engineering Society (BUCES).
