Students with children

We estimate that there are around 6% of students at the University of Birmingham who have children. The University of Birmingham welcomes students with children and recognises it is an exciting and challenging experience being both a parent and a student.

Student groups

Student Parents and Carers' Association

The Student Parents and Carers' Association is a student run group that offers support and advice to students who are also parents or carers. They work with the university to keep it at the leading edge of family friendly practice.

Postgraduate and Mature Students' Association (PGMSA)

The PGMSA is a student-led organisation that works for the interests of mature and postgraduate students. They assist with welfare and housing needs and hold social events.

Welcome event

The Guild of Students is running an event for Students with Children on 21 September 2014, 12:00 - 15:30 at the Debating Hall, Guild of Students. This will give you the opportunity to meet other student parents, ask questions of current students, learn about the support available and familiarise yourself with the main campus prior to beginning your studies  To book your place, visit the Guild of Students.
