Black History Month 2013: celebrating the past, promoting the present, building for the future
The University will celebrate Black History Month as part of the Cultural Engagement Initiative. Throughout the month of October, we will engage both the University and wider Birmingham communities. We will start the month-long events featuring important figures from around the UK and the USA: Dr. Julius Garvey, son of famed Civil Rights leader, Marcus Garvey, celebrated playwright David Edgar, and acclaimed National Gallery lecturer, Leslie Primo are just a few. Many of the events are free and open to the public.
