GREAT Scholarships 2023 - India and Thailand

In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, University of Birmingham is offering two scholarships to students in India and Thailand applying for postgraduate courses in Birmingham Law School.

The GREAT Scholarships 2023 programme, launched by the British Council together with 49 UK universities, supports postgraduate students from Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam to access world-class UK higher education opportunities.

The scholarship programme offers financial support of £10,000 to students pursuing one-year postgraduate study in the UK. Students can apply for any of the LLM Programmes at the University of Birmingham Law School.

Please note that applicants should be passport holders of India or Thailand to be applicable.

About the award

The GREAT Scholarships for justice and law is a new time-limited programme from the Study UK campaign and the Ministry of Justice. 

The GREAT Scholarships for justice and law are jointly funded by the University of Birmingham with the UK government’s GREAT Britain campaign and the British Council.

We are offering £10,000 towards tuition fees for one-year master’s programmes to students from India or Thailand who will enroll into UK higher education institutions in the 2023-24 academic year.

Eligibility Criteria

 All applicants to this scholarship must:

  • Meet the academic conditions of their offer to the programme to retain the scholarship 
  • Be domiciled in Thailand or India
  • Be classed by the University as an overseas fee payer for tuition fee purposes and be able to pay the outstanding tuition fees not covered by the scholarship
  • Have sufficient funds to cover the full cost of living at the University of Birmingham, plus any visa/travel expenses associated with studying in the UK
  • Must not be in receipt of any further scholarships or funding.
