Student Fundraiser

Looking for part-time work during your time at the University of Birmingham? Then join the DARO team and work alongside your studies as a Student Fundraiser.

Around 60 student fundraisers together on the steps of the Aston Webb buildingThe University's Development and Alumni Relations Office (DARO) raises money for charitable projects across the University, with the majority of donations coming from graduates. Thanks to this support, we have been able to transform campus, support under-represented students and fund ground-breaking research that will change the lives of people around the world. You can read more about our fundraising priorities.

You will be expected to contact selected graduates of the University by telephone to ask them to support the University with a charitable gift. You will also share news and gain valuable feedback on events and publications. The transferable skills you will develop as part of the role – including effective communication and negotiation – will further your career opportunities after University. Last year, Student Fundraisers raised over £300,000 towards bursaries and scholarships.

Previous fundraising experience is not required as you will be fully trained. Once you've started your role, you will be supported by DARO staff and Call Room Supervisors who will provide practical tips to ensure that you achieve success.
